What Does AHS

Towards Zero Traffic Fatalities
Supporting the Growing Number of Elderly Drivers on the Road
Reducing Congestion at Sag Tunnel Sections, and Other Bottlenecks
Providing a Host of Services by Gathering Vehicle Information
Traffic Accidents are Still Increasing - Why?

As full-scale operation of Smartway gets underway, we intend to expand the area of applicable AHS services and implement them as soon as possible, including providing information for oncoming forward obstacles, providing information for activity on the road ahead, merge support systems, utilizing GPS date and digital map services and reduction of sag traffic congestion.

Towards Zero Fatalities
We will promote R&D on a host of services, including those that provide information on identifying dangerous locations due to the sudden deceleration of vehicles or using road-to-vehicle communication so when a vehicle discovers a frozen road it can relay that data to cars behind it.

Providing Information for Oncoming forward obstacles
merge support

Support for Prevention of Overahooting on Curve

Providing a wide variety of methods to support safe driving for the elderly by providing easy-to-understand information that the elderly can make instant judgments upon when at an intersection or other high-traffic areas. Examples include providing alternate routes to avoid intersections where right turns are difficult or other appropriate data like the time and day.

Provinding information to avoid collisions at each intersection
