Number of Traffic Accident Fatalities Is Decreasing, But Number of Traffic Accidents  Still Remains at High Levels

As vehicles and roads of infrastructure have its respective strengths and weaknesses, realizing uses a one, advanced ITS poses difficulties. If the strengths of both are capitalized upon and their weaknesses complemented, a wide range of AHS safety is possible. That is why Vehicle-Highway Cooperation is believed to be so critical and why we are working on R&D.
