Summary The Advanced Vehicle Highway System (AVHS) demo held during the 5th ITS World Congress in Seoul featured four-car platooning (with very small headway).

[Key Demo Features]

The demonstration featured platooning by four passenger vehicles, cruising at maximum speed of 80 km/h with headway of 10m followed by stage-braking, brake release, acceleration, cruising at constant speed (80 km/h), deceleration and stopping. Road-to-vehicle communication was accomplished using dipole antennas set at intervals of 500m in radius, and lane-keeping was realized using electromagnetic induction.
