| While road transportation has made a great contribution to the socieconomic development of Japan, it has also created some serious problems such as traffic accidents, traffic congestion, and environmental pollution by gas emissions, etc.

*Out of about 11,000 persons killed in traffic accidents in 1995, "delay in perceiving the danger" accounted for about 40% of the total.
--> AHS-i, which warns drivers of any danger ahead, will be effective in this regard.

| If AHS-i is introduced on major roads, it is estimated that traffic accidents caused by drivers' delayed detection will be reduced, relieving a loss of approximately 9 billion dollars annually. |
