The Cruise Assist Systems will be unveiled and demonstrated at Joint Tests - Demo 2000, cosponsored by the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and Ministry of Construction (MOC) in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture from November 28 (Tue) through December 1 (Fri), 2000. These revolutionary systems are the product of extensive collaboration to integrate the services provided by the MOT's Advanced Safety Vehicle (ASV) and the MOC's Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway Systems (AHS). Designed for the 21st century, these innovative road traffic systems use information communication technology to link the road infrastructure and vehicles. These systems provide information and warnings that help drivers operate their vehicles for a safe and comfortable car journey. The MOT and MOC are collaborating with a wide array of associates to bring the road-to -vehicle affinity provided by the Cruise Assist Systems to the market as soon as possible. Joint proving tests will begin in October 2000. At Demo 2000, we will unveil our tested systems and other aspects of our work at test courses located at the Public Works Research Institute (PWRI) of MOC and the Japan Automobile Research Institute (JARI) in Tsukuba City. In addition, pre-registered participants can ride in the test cars, and all participants can attend lectures and technical sessions introducing the system and its technology to be held at the Tsukuba International Congress Center. Further details will be provided when the official schedule is announced. We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to test the Cruise Assist Systems before they reach the market. |
